Getting Started

After your first look around Anno1777 you may find yourself a little confused, overwhelmed. This will help you understand how to navigate the pages of the game, and give some tips on how to get off to a good start.

The native regions you will start off in are mostly tough economies, and it will be hard to get anywhere.. Employee wages and bonuses will be low, taxes will be high, and most likely any other players you can attack in that region will be facing the same hardships. From the 'Presidency and Government' tab at the top you can find info about bonuses, taxes, and fees in your current region.

You will start with 50% wellness, but this will gradually drop to 10% as you have no other factor effecting wellness yet. So my advice? Start work immediately! You can work 8 hours, once every 24 hours. The wage you earn will be very low, but will earn you enough for your first day. Do not work here again on day 2! You can find employers from the 'Jobs Market' tab on the left side of the screen.

Now you have at least a little bit of money in your local currency. Enough to rent a house for at least a few days. Houses will give you a wellness bonus based on there quality level. From the 'Home' tab on the left you will see two options below the house, to buy or rent. Go through to the rentals pages, click on the stars to show houses of 5* quality. Rent the cheapest one for as many days as you can afford. Now you must also move into this house.. From the 'Profile and Inventory' tab at the top select 'Transport' and you will see an option to move into your new house. Spend any left over funds on the highest quality food you can afford from the 'Goods' tab on the left.

Now that you have a few factors working to raise wellness, it is time to find a more profitable region. You can request citizenship to any private region run by another player, but cannot change citizenship to any other native region except for the country you started in. From the 'Private Lands' tab on the left you can see all privately held regions you can request citizenship from. You can click on any region to see info about bonuses, taxes etc. and also apply for citizenship. You should find they are much better then the region you started in. You will also see posts on the right side of the screen about private regions looking for new citizens. Search the list for the region you think will be best and apply for citizenship. You cannot travel at this point because you are working for 8 hours, but by the time you finish your citizenship should be approved.
From the 'Home' tab you will be able to change region and travel after working.

Take this time to complete your profile, as this will give you a daily bonus.

After you have finished working and your citizenship is accepted, move to this new region. Collect bonuses there, and work for much better wages!
